Heritage Festival Quilt Show
Ellen Perry
The Roy Acuff Union Museum and Library will host the Third Annual Heritage Festival Quilt Show October 20th as part of the 2007 Union County Heritage Festival. Quilts will be on display on the upper floor of the museum during “Festival” hours of 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday October 20, 2007. We will feature heritage quilts from our past as well as quilts made by modern day quilters.
If you are a quilter and would like to enter our quilt show, bring your quilt(s) to the Roy Acuff Union Museum and Library on Thursday October 18th between the hours of 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. We welcome quilts that are hand made or machine made or a combination of techniques. No limit is placed on the number of quilts (space permitting) you may enter. Quilts do not have to be made by the person entering the quilt.
Quilt entries will be placed in appropriate categories on Thursday, October 18th and will be judged on Friday and ribbons will be placed on quilts before the “Festival” begins on Saturday morning. Viewer’s Choice Quilt will be decided by the votes of quilt show visitors on Saturday and will be announced at the end of the day.
Visitors at the “Festival” over the past two years have enjoyed seeing the many quilts made by the talented quilt enthusiasts of our area. Heritage quilts as early as the late 1800’s from personal collections have been displayed. Make plans to enter your quilt(s) or just come by and enjoy the colorful array of quilts on display.
